Overland travel aka "overlanding" has become increasingly popular over the past decade, as vehicle-based adventure travel to remote and beautiful locations has become glorified through online press, popular journalism, and across social media. As more adventurers choose to escape to the great outdoors to pursue their passions via their own vehicles, a host of overland and expedition camping and accessory companies have sprung up to flood the market with car camping and off-road accessories to ensure travelers have all the comforts of home while on the road. An accidental side effect of this easy accessibility to overland and expedition products has blurred the line between off-road driving and actual overlanding, as more and more drivers incorporate overland-inspired gear and technology into their lives. The question has now become: where exactly does one end and the other begin?
