Results of The Ultimate Rally Tire Test
DALTON, NH–Team O’Neil conducted the most comprehensive public rally tire test. We meticulously documented the process in the form of a video: https://youtu.be/FYXDRiv6aug
For this test, we acquired the major brands of rally tires currently available in North America. These include Pirelli, Hoosier, and Michelin in both medium and soft compounds. We also wanted to try the tires on both AWD and FWD platforms. For the AWD test we invited ten-time Canadian rally champion Antoine L'Estage to do a blind test on our road loops in his AWD rally car. Team O’Neil CEO Chris Cyr handled the FWD testing duties piloting his FWD 2014 Fiesta ST. We timed each lap, taking air pressure and tire temperatures on every tire.
